THE Lead Pastor of Handlifters Praying Group, Pastor Chinyere Adegboye, has said that Africa has come of age and its set time is now.

Speaking during a conference, themed, ‘Africa Has Come of Age,’ organised by her praying group in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Adegboye was optimistic that sunshine would rise out of Africa, adding: “We are tired of wars in Africa. Pray for the peace of Africa; pray for the unity of Africa.

“African countries are borrowing from countries that should be borrowing from us. Africa is the richest continent in the world. We have the best brains, but African leaders don’t work together as a team. If we don’t know our roots, we cannot know where we are going.”

On his part, Apostle Anselm Madubuko said Africa’s poverty was not an act of God, but because the people have allowed their leaders to mess them up.

Madubuko, who spoke virtually during the conference, noted that Africa needs selfless leaders that would lift up the continent from its woes, enthusing that against all odds, there is still hope for Africa.”

“Princess will come out of Egypt. Africans should stretch out their hands to God and let their helps come from God. Envoys shall come out of Africa,” he stated.

Reverend Juliet Binitie noted that the Sun of God is rising on Africa, adding: “I am proud to be a Nigerian, in spite of the failures of our leaders. We are not called to escape, but to establish God’s kingdom.

“The Bible says God will divide the nations into sheep and goat nations. We should pray to God to raise sheep nations from Africa. We command unity to reign; we pray against the lies, we thank God for the redemption of Africa.

“Every leaders not working according to the Lord’s agenda shall be removed. The time of wicked leaders is over. Every wicked leader, you will not stand.

“Africa is used to bad leadership; we are just managing, but we will no longer manage it. The Asian Tigers are exporting products to different parts of the world. We also want to be like them in Africa.”

Also speaking, Pastor Adeyinka Adegboye recalled that in the Bible, Ham saw the nakedness of his father, Noah, and did not cover it, noting: “God will use this conference to change the destiny of Africa.

“Any curse that has been placed on Africa shall be reversed. God will raise up leaders in our countries that will manage our resources well. Africa has come of age to remove the curses on African continent.”

He said Africa needs leaders that are after God’s own heart, that will love the people they are serving, leaders in the mould of the late Nelson Mandela.

Pastor Chima, who spoke on the ‘Disadvantages of GMO Products in Africa,’ said genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have their roots in the Bible, recalling: “I want us to go to the book of Genesis 30: 31-43. A conversation between Laban and Jacob. Jacob asked for spotted lambs from Laban. It was the scientific method of GMO that Jacob used to produce lambs with spots in the Bible.

“GMO products are good if the scientists producing them are not after profits. It is only when they are using it to serve their own interest, to make profits that it is bad. So, it is good to study science and gain more knowledge, but it is the way we use it that matters.”

He urged Christians to fight to take over leadership and use leadership positions for the benefit of the people.

Speaking on ‘Healthy ageing for Africans,’ Mrs. Josephine Anenih said that Alzeimer’s disease affects the elderly people, who need to be well taken care of.

“It could be dementia symptoms, the most common is Alzeimer’s disease. Most of them can loss their memories at that stage. They are kept in old peoples homes in advanced countries, but here, we keep them at homes and usually asked our younger ones to take care of them, but most people do not usually take good care of them.”

She said they are now training caregivers who take care of the old people, adding that older people must sleep well, drink water and go to church to pray and worship God.

“Connecting with friends and engaging in exercises and other activities that will not make them to sit down in one place for too long is necessary. Healthy ageing is something that all of us should be interested in.”
