Bandits Kill Students In Yobe Attack

SOME students Faudiya School in Geidam Local Council of Yobe State have been feared dead following an attack by gunmen, suspected to be terrorists, on Friday, August 30.

The gunmen invaded the school, located in Hausari quarters in Geidam Local Council, owned by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiite sect in the country, about 3:44am on Friday, while the students were sleeping, marched them outside and shot them at close range.

      According to information monitored on Daily Trust, the gunmen attacked while the students were sleeping, marched them outside and shot them.

According to a source: “They attacked the school when these youth were asleep and brought them outside and shot them dead.

“There is tension and concern in the town after this incident. People are terrified over this unfortunate incident.” 

Another source told Daily Trust that three members of the Shiite sect were killed, while one sustained injuries, adding: “We don’t know who they are, but all we knew is that they killed three students in the school.

“One person who tried to escape during the incident was injured and he has been hospitalised.”

Spokesman of the state Police Command, Dungus Abdulkarim (DSP), confirmed the attack, but did not give further details.
