THE Police in Lagos State, on Wednesday, August 28, arraigned a 38-year-old man based in Badagry, Lucky Ugwauka, for allegedly defiling his 10-year-old daughter.
Ugwauka, whose address was not provided, was charged with defilement before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Ayodele Adeosun (Inspector), told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August16 at 6p.m, at Abapasha Street in Ojo area of the state.
Adeosun said that the defendant defiled his 10-year-old daughter and threatened to kill her if she revealed his sexual escapades.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 139, 263 and 58 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000, with two sureties in like sum. The sureties should be level 14 officers in the civil service.
He adjourned the case until September 30 for mention.
