Lagos BRT Bus Tumbles, Injures 10 Passengers

A VEHICLE belonging to the Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), on Friday morning, August 23, overturned inside the dedicated lane at Iyana Ipaja, with 10 passengers sustaining injuries, who were immediately evacuated and given necessary medical attention.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accident occurred shortly after the bus departed from the BRT Park at Iyana Ipaja.

Giving an update on its X handle, LASTMA explained that the bus ran into the foot of an abandoned pedestrian bridge immediately after the Iyana Ipaja Bridge, causing it to tip over onto its side.

LASTMA officials were quickly drafted on the scene to manage the situation and ensure that the victims were promptly taken care of.

The accident caused significant disruption to traffic flow in the area, with motorists and commuters advised to exercise caution and follow traffic directives by LASTMA officials.
