THE Federal Government has disclosed that a fresh report on Dangote Refinery’s diesel sulfur content would be out on Monday, July 22.
The Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) spokesman, Mr. George Ene-Ita, in a statement on Sunday, July 21, while reacting to the owner of Dangote Refinery, Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s rejection of the claim by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Farouk Ahmed, that its petroleum products were inferior compared to imported ones, said the authority has about 15 engineers and scientists embedded in the Dangote refinery and its fresh report on the refinery’s diesel content would be released.
Ene-Ita said NMDPRA has done its job and would not engage in a media fight with the refinery.
Recall that last week, Ahmed alleged that the refinery was not yet licensed to operate, stressing that its petroleum products were inferior.
“Dangote Refinery, as well as some modular refineries, like Watersmith Refinery and Aradel Refinery, are producing between 650 and 1,200 PPM. Therefore, in terms of quality, their products are inferior to imported ones,” Ahmed stated.
But Dangote has dismissed insinuations that the refinery’s products were inferior and called for an independent test on its refinery’s products.
“The imported one they are encouraging is the spec in test, but in certain cases, when you check (independently), different results will show, because those people who have the lab have been told what to write,” Dangote fired back.
