THE Federal Executive Council (FEC), presided over by President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, May 14, has approved a new visa regime to address the lacuna and challenges faced by citizens and foreign investors coming or going out of the country.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, who disclosed this at the end of the FEC meeting in Abuja, said approval followed a memo to that effect presented by the Ministry of Interior.
Idris said the new visa process would now be completely online, with background security checks of applicants done within 48 hours, with effect from four weeks.
