Four Killed, Many Injured In Enugu Community Attack

NO fewer than four people were killed and many others wounded by attackers suspected to be herdsmen who invaded Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local Council of Enugu State on the night of Sunday, April 28.

    The victims were listed as Okeh Simon Ugwu; Oruku Okeh Chukwuebuka; Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea.

Residents alleged that the herders invaded the community late Sunday night and attacked mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo village, killing four persons instantly, whose bodies had been recovered, with some still missing.

It was gathered that seven persons inflicted with machete cuts had been taken to a hospital in Nsukka town.

Recall that in April 2016, herdsmen attacked Oda Nimbo community, killing at least 14 people and injuring 23 others.

Spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the attack on Monday morning.
