THE Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) has disclosed that thorough physical examination of the actual gender of popular and now convicted cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, showed no evidence of gender or genital organ realignment, confirming that he is a male, as he admitted in court.
Recall that he was sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Lagos, after his conviction for abuse of the Naira, without an option of fine.
He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and pleaded guilty to charges against him, consequent upon which he was jailed by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, with effect from the date of his arrest, and is currently serving the term at Ikoyi Prison.
He had claimed to have undergone gender transformation from being a man to a woman, but prison officials have confirmed that his male biological characteristics remained unchanged.
“Bobrisky was perceived as an ordinary detainee and underwent a thorough examination, which revealed no evidence of gender or genital organ realignment. His male biological characteristics remained unchanged,” a report quoted a prison official as saying.
