Abure Allegedly Escapes Assassination, House Burnt

Published:

THE National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Julius Abure, has alleged escaped assassination attempt on him at his Abuja residence on Wednesday morning, April 3.

It was gathered that his residence was also gutted by a mysterious fire that started a few minutes after 1a.m., while he and his family members were asleep.

According to a member of the family, they were woken up by neighbours and security men living in the compound who raised the alarm and the entire family was trapped, as the inferno had reached the staircase, making it impossible for them to escape.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, who confirmed the incident, said it took divine intervention for Abure and his family to escape, as  neighbours and security men gallantly pulled down one of the windows upstairs to make it possible for them to escape.

He said men of the fire service arrived shortly after Abure and his family were evacuated, adding: “Abure and his family were rushed to a private hospital, where they received treatment. Their condition is, however, stable.”
