THE Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abaniwonda Olufemi, has ordered the immediate removal of the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) 2 in Abraka Division with immediate effect, following the reported case of extortion of N2,465,000.

Olufemi also issued a query to the officer for misconduct, while directing the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Division to report at the Command headquarters, alongside the DCO 2, Mr. Ibrahim Ishaku, a Superintendent of Police (SP).

According to a statement by the Command spokesman, Mr. Bright Edafe, the Police boss reiterated that the Command under his leadership would deal decisively with any recalcitrant officer involved in any form of misconduct, extortion or incivility to the public, assuring the public of the Command’s readiness to discipline any erring officer to serve as a deterrent to others.

He assured the public that no officer found wanting would be spared, saying that serving the people of the state with honesty and strict adherence to their human rights remained a top priority of the Command.
