Tinubu Sacks FCCPC, BPE Chief Executives

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu, late on Monday, January 8, sacked the heads of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr. Babatunde Irukera, and that of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mr. Alex Okoh.

A statement by the President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in Abuja, said the sack was part of plans to restructure and reposition critical federal agencies and towards protecting the rights of Nigerian consumers and providing strong basis for enhanced contributions to the country’s economy by key growth-enabling institutions.

The statement directed the sacked chief executives to hand over to the next most senior officer in their respective agencies with immediate effect, pending the appointment of new ones.
