OPERATIVES of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a man, following the discovery of the body of a young woman, presumed to be his girlfriend, in his Edjeba community in Warri, apartment.
The entire community was shocked at the discovery on Ajidi Street, where the deceased and the suspect were said to have been co-habiting for several days before the incident.
Residents alleged that the victim was seen alive and moving freely around the neighbourhood on Tuesday evening, with some neighbours recalling seeing her purchase food items just hours before the incident, making the news of her death on Wednesday, June 24, even more suspicious.
It was gathered that neighbours were woken by unusual screams in the early hours of the morning from the apartment.
Worried by the screams, the landlord reportedly alerted security operatives, who immediately arrived at the compound and discovered the body of the woman inside the room.
Her remains were subsequently evacuated to a mortuary for further examination and possible autopsy, while her boyfriend, described by residents as a suspected Internet fraudster, was taken into custody for questioning.
